'You want to be the team going into the playoffs with 'Momentum'...'
How many times have you heard an 'expert' say that statement when talking about the playoffs? We've heard it a lot and we were interested in seeing whether this was in fact true.... or in fact a load of bollocks.
So as usual we released David to get to work crafting a bespoke way to use the data available in order to answer the question.
The result was quite surprising to be honest...... but was very conclusive.
Because the relegation battle is so close this season we wanted to see if historically momentum going into the last 8-10 games of the season had been a good indicator for which teams will get out of danger..... and again we were surprised by how clear it seemed to be.
