Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 20th.

Did you know that today is World Productivity Day? That's right, today we celebrate the art of getting things done, tackling those to-do lists, and making the most out of every minute. It's a day to focus on maximizing our efficiency and achieving our goals.

My productivity system, including the workflow involved in producing this podcast is Notion... the no code database app that allows you to build your own system from scratch or use a template.

But I love it... and for the most part it works really well.

In honor of World Productivity Day, I’ve chosen a quote from one of the most productive people in history, Benjamin Franklin. He once said,

"Lost time is never found again."

Let’s dive into this. Franklin's words are a powerful reminder that time is our most precious resource. Once it's gone, we can’t get it back, so it's crucial to use it wisely. Being productive isn't just about being busy; it's about making sure our actions align with our goals and values. It’s about prioritizing what truly matters and eliminating distractions that can derail our progress.

Now, I know that staying productive can sometimes feel like a Herculean task. There are endless emails, meetings, and distractions pulling us in a hundred different directions. But remember, even small steps can lead to big accomplishments. By focusing on one task at a time and giving it your full attention, you can make significant progress.

Here’s a little tip: try breaking your tasks into smaller, manageable chunks and tackle them one by one. This not only makes the workload feel lighter but also gives you a sense of accomplishment as you check each item off your list. And don’t forget to take breaks. Sometimes, a little downtime can boost your productivity and creativity.

Speaking of breaks, here’s a fun fact to keep you motivated: today is also World Tapas Day. So, after a productive day of checking off those to-do lists, you have the perfect excuse to reward yourself with some delicious small plates. Because nothing says "I’ve been productive" quite like a tasty snack reward.

So, as you power through your day, keep Franklin’s words in mind. Make the most of your time, stay focused on what matters, and remember to enjoy the little rewards along the way. After all, a productive day topped off with tapas sounds like a pretty great way to celebrate, doesn’t it?

Remember, Lost Time is Never Found Again...

So if you decide to get into a productivity system like notion... be careful because you can end up wasting a lot of time on system design instead of getting the actual work done...

There is a serious rabbit hole risk here... trust me, I know...

Thank you for joining me on The Daily Quote.
