Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is June 23rd.

Did you know that today is National Hydration Day? Yes, that's right. It’s a day dedicated to reminding you to drink water. Seems like a no-brainer, but it's astonishing how many of us forget to stay hydrated. So, consider this your friendly reminder to drink up – your body will thank you.

In keeping with today's theme, I’ve got a refreshing quote for you from the insightful poet, W.H. Auden who is know for his profound observations... Auden once said.

"Thousands have lived without love, not one without water."

Let's break this down. Auden's quote highlights the undeniable necessity of water in our lives. Sure, we can get all philosophical and talk about the importance of love, but at the end of the day, it's water that keeps us physically alive. Think about it – you can survive weeks without food, but only a few days without water.

And isn't it interesting how we often overlook such a simple yet vital part of our existence? It's easy to take for granted the things that are always there, like the availability of clean drinking water. In many parts of the world, access to water is a daily struggle, reminding us how precious it is.

So, today, as you go about your daily routine, make it a point to stay hydrated. Keep a water bottle with you, and take sips regularly. If you're feeling adventurous, throw in a slice of lemon or cucumber. You might not be able to control everything in your life, but you can control how hydrated you are.

Remember, taking care of yourself is the first step in taking care of others. Just like they say on airplanes – put your own oxygen mask on first before assisting others. Hydrate yourself before you dehydrate yourself. It's simple, really.

That wraps up today's episode. I hope Auden’s words give you a moment of reflection and perhaps a chuckle or two. Stay hydrated, stay positive, and join me tomorrow for another dose of daily inspiration.

I'm Andrew McGivern, and thanks for listening to The Daily Quote. Have a great day!
