[00:00:00] The best life isn't just about business. It's about the diversity of what you want to accomplish. It's not always about financial outcomes.

[00:00:20] Finances are important, but it's about the life you want to live. The biggest attraction is a team leader showing others how to live a full life.

[00:00:41] Welcome to Entrepreneurial Elevation with Kelley Beverage and today’s guest, Paul Sessum, an incredible leader in both business and personal life.

[00:01:14] Paul has been in real estate since 2004 and joined Keller Williams Realty in 2006, leading a team of 289 associates with $2.5 billion in transactions. In 2022, he moved to EXP Realty, continuing to build teams and coach through Workman Success Systems.

[00:01:57] Paul started in the entertainment industry, met his wife Beth, and has since had a diverse career. We will discuss building teams, collaboration, and how strong teams allow entrepreneurs to design the life they desire.

[00:02:38] Paul believes team leadership is about setting an example and showing people how to live their best life.

[00:03:51] You need to be intentional about your time, making sure you're not just chasing financial success but fulfillment in life.

[00:07:24] If it’s not on the calendar, it doesn’t exist. Whether it's laundry or grocery shopping, everything needs to be scheduled to manage time purposefully.

[00:12:19] Building a strong team means trusting people in the right roles to own their position. It's essential to surround yourself with people who have complementary strengths.

[00:14:06] To build a strong team, first define your core values and mission. Attract the right people based on those values and ensure roles fit their behavioral styles.

[00:19:10] Hire slowly and fire quickly. When building a team, take your time to ensure the person is a good fit for the role and aligns with your values. This will lead to long-term success.

[00:26:17] With a strong team in place, you free up mental and physical capacity to think creatively, plan for the future, and take on new opportunities.

[00:35:07] A strong team allows you to design your life based on what’s important to you—whether that’s family, health, or time spent doing things you love.

[00:39:45] Most people work to cover their lifestyle expenses. To achieve bigger financial goals, like investing or supporting loved ones, you need to design your income and life intentionally.

[00:42:24] Paul and Beth focus on each other, their business, faith, family, friends, and fitness, ensuring that everything important is accounted for on their calendar.

[00:44:05] Paul's definition of success today is about being fortunate to have the relationship and life he has. Success means not giving up on where you want to go in life, even when it's not easy. Keep working toward what you want to create.

[00:44:50] Three tips to unleash your greatness: Meditate and reflect, serve others and give generously, and be mindful of how you carry yourself.

[00:45:13] Carrying yourself with openness and curiosity, like Paul's friend Rick Geha, allows you to connect better with others. Energy and how you show up can make a big difference in relationships.

[00:47:21] A great final piece of advice: “Act now.” It’s about taking immediate action on your plans and dreams instead of waiting.

[00:48:00] Paul can be reached at TeamSessum.com or via email at paul@teamsessum.com. He also offers a business plan strategy template for listeners to help them get started.

[00:49:26] Kelley reflects on how Paul and Beth live by example, balancing their work and personal lives, traveling, entertaining, and maintaining strong relationships, and encourages listeners to take Paul’s insights to heart.
