As Congress faces a September 30 deadline to prevent a government shutdown, negotiations for a Continuing Resolution are at an impasse. With numerous barriers that need to be addressed, the pressure is increasing for Congress. The outcome of different negotiations will have far-reaching implications for federal agencies, public services, and the political dynamics leading into the November elections. As the clock ticks down and with a shortening window to get things resolved, Congress has put themselves in a tight spot with a lot of expectations to stop a shutdown from happening.
