Do depression and anxiety affect the lives of people with heart conditions? πŸ€”Can we prevent, rather than cure, depression and anxiety in people with heart conditions? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Today, we are joined by Susanne Pedersen, Professor of Cardiology Psychology at the University of Southern Denmark. She is a psychologist who has mainly worked in the field of behavioural medicine, particularly the interface between cardiology and psychology.

We discuss how depression and anxiety disorders affect people with heart conditions and how these disorders can further deteriorate people's quality of life. We then talk about the strategies that can be used to prevent the onset of such disorders and how psychologists can help people with heart conditions overcome any difficulties they might experience.
