The historical preservation at Colonial Williamsburg isn’t limited to buildings. Visitors can also be immersed in early colonial life by visiting the blacksmith shop, brickyard, African American religion exhibit, carpenter’s yard, courthouse, governor’s palace, as well as historic farming and gardening sites.
In fact, Colonial Williamsburg has been so meticulously preserved with adherence to historical standards that, if all the tourists were to suddenly abandon colonial Williamsburg, a 17th or 18th century ghost might feel quite at home.
