Increased access to early childhood education has a direct benefit in a child's success in school and improves high school graduation rates. Yet, less than 30 percent of 4-year-olds are enrolled in state-funded PreK programs in the U.S. In this episode, special guest Nancy Coronodo, a trained equity and inclusion facilitator and longtime educator and champion for increasing access to PreK and specialized in supporting adolescent students, shares with us the difference between equity and equality in the classroom and her experience as a teacher, administrator, and consultant and the WHY that drives her to do this important work. We also talk about increasing representation with more BIPOC leaders in the education sector including in the classroom and the positive impact on students. Our conversation touched on mental health, gender equity, and women in the nonprofit sector.
