Self-evaluation is hard and being realistic about health and finances can be harder. Making proactive decisions about both are the key to good senior living.

Sonny and Robert Googins were comfortably retired in Georgia, but storms, snow and proximity to family prompted a move not only closer to family, but a move across the country to a senior community in California. In this inspired interview, you’ll hear the details of their journey together and the proactive steps they took to no longer live in isolation and to thrive instead.

In their community, Sonny is on the Rotary Club and Planning Board, while Robert started The High Adventure Club – and yes, it’s exactly how it sounds. They jump out of airplanes, go parasailing, jet skiing, ride hot air balloons and conquer many other “bucket list” wishes.

It’s a story many seniors need to hear, because there is a good and exciting life waiting for you on the other side of an honest self-evaluation and assessment of where you currently are and where you could be with the courage to change.
