Just one month after the Battle of Coral Sea, Japanese and American forces lock horns over the Pacific for control of a tiny island much closer to the U.S. mainland. The Battle of Midway kicks off early in June 1942 when the underdog U.S. Navy responds to four, massive Japanese carrier groups attacking the Marines at Midway Atoll. Follow along to find out why some historians say this is the turning point in the war as two major powers duke it out in the skies as our sailors and airmen handle this perilous threat.
