New Year's Eve 1921, 8.36pm. It is a cold, drizzly evening. at Hollandspoor station in The Hague, the train has just arrived from Amsterdam. A passenger about to board the first-class compartment says to the porter that there is a drunken bum on the floor. The porter shrugs his shoulders. It's New Year's Eve, of course there are drunk people. The porter decides to check it out. He stares into the compartment. There is a shape on the floor, a man, in an expensive wool coat. The man doesn't move. And then he sees the pool of blood....

The murder of this prominent Dutch lawyer was never solved and would keep Dutch society riveted to their newspapers for years. Was it a robbery gone wrong? A suicide? Or was it something to do with... the Dutch Royal family...?
