Welcome back to the Own Your Revival Podcast!

Join me as I open up about ending a tumultuous, two-year relationship that was impacting not only my life but my children’s lives and overshadowing our precious family time during the holidays. I share my story as a rich metaphor for recognizing and addressing dysfunctional patterns in our lives. The twist? The relationship was with my dysfunctional dishwasher. Even though my heartbreak was of the major appliance variety, the parallels between the cycle of hope and disappointment so often experienced in personal relationships are very real. When promises to change are made (and routinely broken), how are we to discern the appropriate response? If you are ready to break up with chaos and create more predictability in your life, my prayer is this episode serves you well and grounds you in truth to forge a new, peaceful path ahead.

Mentioned in this episode:

1️⃣Discernment of Spirits by St. Ignatius of Loyola Rule 6, Part 2 (meditating on truth):

“Although in desolation we ought not to change our first resolutions, it is very helpful intensely to change ourselves against the same desolation, as by insisting more on prayer, meditation, on much examination, and by giving ourselves more scope in some suitable way of doing penance.”

2️⃣Cycle of Abuse in Dysfunctional Relationships
