After the informal Physical Evaluation Board process, you may receive the news that they've made a preliminary determination finding you unfit for duty based on your medical conditions.

In this episode, we dive into what happens when the PEB requests preliminary ratings in accordance with AR 635-40 procedures. They'll issue you a DA Form 199 laying out their initial disability percentage ratings and combined rating proposal.

But this isn't just a formality you blindly accept. Carefully reviewing the DA 199 is absolutely critical, as these preliminary coded ratings will directly impact your final disability benefits and compensation.

Are you confused, stuck, and feeling lost about the med board process?

I've made a free MEB resource organizer to help you learn about the med board journey. The organizer gives you an easy way to keep track of your forms and medical records. Having your records organized makes it simpler to prove your health issues are connected to your military service. When you can clearly show this connection, you have a better chance of getting a positive result from your med board. The program guides you step-by-step through properly preparing your important documents. This increases your odds of receiving the disability ratings you deserve.
