Welcome to Wisdom Rebellion, the podcast that dares to dig deeper into the intricacies of our modern world. I'm your host, Kat Kuczynska, and joining us today is the insightful Stephen J Shaw, shedding light on a silent societal issue: the global birth gap phenomenon.

In our first-ever episode, "Unraveling the Birth Gap Enigma," Stephen takes us through his extensive research on declining birth rates, a trend unaffected by the availability of birth control, and explores the cultural and economic forces influencing the decision not to have children. We'll dissect the implications of his 8-year documentary journey, examining how financial crises echo through nations' fertility rates and the often-ignored subject of childlessness by circumstance rather than choice.

We'll examine the future of services like the NHS and pensions against the backdrop of an ageing and diminishing workforce, and take a glance at the transformation of cities like Detroit in the face of demographic decline.

Today's discussion promises to offer unexpected perspectives on fertility, family planning, and the undeniable impact of the birth gap in our ever-evolving landscape. So buckle up for a riveting session with Stephen J Shaw, here on Wisdom Rebellion.

Here are the Highlights:

00:01 Birth gap: Older population needing support vs. working.
