“If i keep everyone around me happy, then everything will be ok”

People pleasing is a sneaky pattern which can affect every area of life. It usually involves doing a lot of things you don’t want to do, or not doing things that you would like to do, in order to attempt to keep others happy - or avoid any risk of them getting angry.

Most of the time, people are quite unaware of these behaviours, and that is when it is most challenging…when the very fabric of their reality is chronically coloured by the lens of pleasing.

In this episode, Pete & Rene (two recovering people pleasers!) break down the fundamentals of this pattern & how it develops in a person. They share stories from their own lives of how it affected their quality of life in toxic & destructive ways.

They also give insights & resources that helped them to move from a state of constantly worrying about the feelings & needs of everyone else to finding more inner peace - while also having compassion for others.

If youre someone who suspects you may suffer from people pleasing or the "nice guy/nice girl" syndrome then this episode will give you the clarity on those behaviours - and some things you can do to change them!

In this episode they discuss:

  • Pete & Rene’s personal definitions of People pleasing
  • Deeper layers of how this can show up in your life - including in business & relationships
  • Typical characteristics of a People Pleaser
  • Pete explains “The People Pleasing spectrum”
  • The deep origin of where this pattern comes from
  • The pro’s and con’s of being a pleaser, and the hidden rewards of changing this pattern
  • Ways to deal with people not liking you
  • The key to solving this pattern, and Pete’s favourite tool for saying “no”
