Pia Gurgel is a Connected Breathwork facilitator & coach who teaches about the nervous system, and also a new mother of a 1 year old.

After initially pursuing a corporate career as a project manager for some of Europe’s biggest E-Commerce companies, Pia’s path changed significantly while being on a Sabbatical in 2017.

Away from her day to day routine, she realised that she actually felt unhappy with the stressful life she had built for herself. Although her life ‚ticked all the boxes‘ and looked great from the outside - on the inside Pia was lacking deeper purpose.

This realisation sent her on a journey of big shifts and changes over the next few years in her personal life & career.

In Pia’s exploration of many different healing modalities, she found the practice of Conscious Connected Breathwork & it completely changed how she experienced the world - so she decided to train in that work & share it with others.

Now for the past 3 years, Pia has been facilitating clients from all over the world & has started a business & family from a more grounded, regulated place in herself.

She has recently joined our team at ReallyAlign, bringing her set of invaluable skills from her old business life to create transformative experiences that help & support others.

In this episode, Pete & Pia explore:

  • Pia’s process of leaving her old life in the corporate world
  • The dark side of taking a sabbatical year from work
  • The main tools & insights that allowed Pia to transition into a more aligned way of living
  • Some unconscious patterns which Pia used to play out in her corporate life
  • The differences Pia & Pete observe between men & women in behaviour (& breathing)
  • Why receiving facilitation or support from a woman or a man can feel quite different
  • The types of topics that can emerge in all-male & all-female retreat spaces
  • Pia’s journey of becoming a mother, and how she balances motherhood with her new career path.
