Its one of the cities most visited tourist spots - millions of people every year climb its ancient stairways and marvel at its imposing towers overlooking the Thames . Many come for the Crown Jewels , which have been housed in the Tower for hundreds of years . Others come for the Yeoman Warders who gaurd the Tower and the ravens for which they care . The yeoman warders also give guided tours to visitior and one of the stories they tell is the infamous execution of Ann Boleyn . Her ghost is said to walk the battlements of the tower with her head tucked underneath her arm . Ann Boleyns execution may be the most famous death in the Tower but its only one in a long line of infamy and death .
