AM Edition for July 16

Today’s scripture reminds us of the importance of maintaining a continual sense of dependence on the Lord for all our blessings and provisions. Just as the Israelites gathered fresh manna every morning, we must seek new grace and strength from the Lord each day. We cannot rely on past spiritual experiences or old anointings to sustain us; we need fresh oil from the sanctuary to keep our spirits alive and vibrant. It is the Lord who places us on the summit of His holy mountain, and only He can keep us there. Our comforts and joys, the light of our eyes and the strength of our lives, all lie in His hands and are sustained by His will.

Key Points:

  1. Daily Dependence: The Israelites gathered manna each morning, symbolizing our need for daily spiritual nourishment. We must seek new grace and strength from the Lord every day.
  2. Fresh Anointing: Old spiritual experiences are not sufficient to sustain us. We need a fresh anointing from the Lord to keep our spirits vibrant.
  3. Sustaining Power: Our position and blessings are maintained by the Lord’s power. Without His continual provision, we would quickly falter.
  4. Daily Prayer: The Lord’s design reminds us to pray for "daily bread" and to recognize our need for His continual grace and provision.
  5. Unfailing Grace: Despite our ingratitude, the Lord’s grace flows abundantly. His blessings are continuous and unceasing.
