I’m delighted to welcome back Elizabeth Tuazon to celebrate seven months postpartum. In this episode, we discuss returning to work, community support, and the value of shared experiences.

After a full update on her daughter’s 7-month life journey, Elizabeth shares how difficult it is to prepare to go back to work, from the emotional toll to the mountain of logistics. Though Elizabeth has been hesitant to join mom groups, she has found the support of her mom friends invaluable and is considering opening up to more adult-child communities. Continuing to improve how we self-nourish is a lifelong commitment, and being open to new relationships is part of that.

There are many ways to measure how healthy you are that don’t include wishing the baby weight would disappear. Elizabeth measures how much she is walking or sleeping on a daily basis over counting pounds. She shares how much, admittedly to her surprise, she enjoys witnessing the new shapes of her body as she continues along her motherhood journey. Long may it continue! She hopes her daughter escapes the body issues she navigated but also realizes it’s not up to her.

Lastly, Elizabeth updates us on how she is continuing to level up the partnership with her husband, from identifying breakdowns to communication upgrades. Both as co-parents and as a couple, there’s always something to learn together.

You’ll also hear about:

  • (01:14) Welcome back, Elizabeth!
  • (06:10) Logistics and emotions of returning to work
  • (14:41) Mom groups, mom friends, and community
  • (22:20) Baby weight, self-worth, and body image
  • (28:14) Wanting better for her daughter
  • (33:32) Forever improving partnership
  • (40:08) Disentangling the thread of myself

There’s so much to learn from and be grateful for in these transition moments. I hope you will join me in learning from Elizabeth’s journey!
