The strait & narrow path is a path of solid ground and is like water. When you place your foot down in a "sure step" you are standing on solid ground. When you are not taking sure steps, your foot will not find solid ground and you will begin to sink.
It is called strait & narrow because it will lead you to God. What you listen to, talk about and watch will affect the ground you stand on. Always remember to keep your eyes on Jesus Christ.
