It was the first Armageddon professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The main event was a No Holds Barred match between Triple H and Vince McMahon. To the surprise of the entire WWE Universe on this night, Vince's daughter and Triple H's (kayfabe, at that time) wife Stephanie McMahon turned on Vince.
