This is the first of a series of talks given during a retreat in the UK in 2011titled Journey’s in Consciousness. In the opening discussion, Shaykh Fadhlalla outlines the three main issues to which the retreat itself is based on there are patterns, designs, and ways which are natural; there is a direction in life - or arrow of time - which implies a relentless drive towards higher consciousness; and all the diverse aspects of nature – which includes consciousness - are encapsulated in Absolute Oneness.
