In this new series, we are taking on something rather big: the confluence of chronic illness, ableism and modern, new age spirituality. It is a deeply nuanced topic, something that the new age loves to bypass. So we are here, ensuring that (hopefully) all of the details are covered.
The axis of this series is what is our responsibility, or fault, as sick people in an ableist world, and what is modern spirituality trying to force-feed us? How much of physical illness is mental? Can we heal ourselves simply by thinking more positively?
