Today’s episode is very special one because we've got a true pioneer in dance music - the creator of "Grunge House" himself Saint Punk came to Chicago to co-headline a new event series called "Flynninho's Fun House" that will feature bass house artists from all over. Flynn, Saint Punk and I sat down together and had an amazing conversation filled with great stories, pieces of advice, and of course a ton of laughs 🎙 In 206 we got it all in and discussed: •Journey Into Music: Trevor was born and raised in Southern California and always had a passion for music. He was lead singer in a punk band and was killing it but it wasn't meant to be - he found himself making electronic music. With grunge rock at his core, he found ways to fuse genres together and now is known for his unique remixes and originals and of course, his energetic live sets. ⚡️ •Discography: Saint Punk has an incredible catalogue of bootlegs, remixes, and originals that all have their own level of energy to them. Whether it's a bootleg of his favorite rock anthems like Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" or his official remix of Whethan's "All In My Head", you know it's Saint Punk right away. We also went deep on his recent debut album "Ouroboros” and talked through the inspirations and story behind tracks like "Comatose" and "Gloves" 🎸 •State of Bass House: Saint Punk and Flynninho are both very passionate about the bass house scene and the culture that thrives within it. Although it's a well-known and respected genre, it's taken a backseat to the commercialization of tech house and house. We discussed why it's so important to stay true and always consider the long-term - don't chase trends and your fans will ride with you til the end. Loved this portion of the interview! ❤️‍🔥 Saint Punk is truly a special artist - he lives and breathes music and is such a good guy even though he makes some HARD music. He is an innovator and inspires so many artists, like Flynninho, to follow their passion and have fun with it. 🤘🏻 I was so glad we got to do this in person and hang out my man! Cannot wait to see you again soon. 🙌🏻
