In this episode, Gareth Westwood, Head of Global Intelligence, is joined by Leo Collins, Intelligence Delivery Lead, to discuss recent global events including the Black Sea Grain Initiative, recent protests at a Swedish embassy in Baghdad, and a shooting in New Zealand. Then, Gareth is joined by Megan Sutcliffe, Associate Analyst on the Middle East and Africa desk, to delve into the security environment in Mali and the recently held constitutional referendum which aimed to transfer military power into civilian rule, seemingly distancing civilian oversight from the current military junta. However, Megan reveals that the referendum results may not be as straightforward as they appear.
