“One and one-half wandering Jews returned to their natural coasts,” Paul Simon wrote in 1983. “To resume old acquaintances and step out occasionally…and speculate who had been damaged the most.”

Here Paul Simon was undeniably singing about Carrie Fisher in his song, “Hearts and Bones.” The ex-Simon and Garfunkler had been on-and-off with Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars (but we love her most for When Harry Met Sally). In fact, Carrie and Paul broke up and got back together repeatedly for twelve years!

How many times is too many times to break up and get back together? That’s one question we ponder in the love story of Carrie Fisher and Paul Simon.
