SHOW NOTES

Is sex a want or a need graph

Sex is more complicated than you might think for men: It is most definitely a need, but it is also a want!

Men have biological reasons, but that doesn’t cheapen what sex is to a man.

The differences between men and women are obvious (generally speaking). But far too often men’s sexual desires get dismissed as merely a biological need…it is also a way they connect with their wives.

Why has men’s primary means of connecting emotionally been dismissed and women’s been propped up as the “accepted” way to connect emotionally?

Wife: Stop invalidating your husband’s genuine need and heartfelt need to connect.

Husband: Stop dismissing your wife’s legitimate need to connect emotionally.

The key is to serve each other, always. This is how balance is achieved in marriage sexually.

Men are like microwaves and women like crockpots when it comes to getting turned on sexually.

How do you approach each other for your needs in the marriage?

  • Nagging? Complaining? Shaming? Begging?

The most effective way to approach:

  1. Keep it about you
  2. Give what you wish you were getting
  3. Share only your feelings or needs
  4. Put the need out there with specifics
  5. Then let your spouse meet them with openness

Also, don’t forget…

If you haven’t left a review yet in iTunes, don’t be shy, it’s easy to do and it really lets me know you’re listening (and others too). Click here.
