Sometimes after a person goes through inpatient, IOP, individual counseling and group counseling, they still need just a little something more in order to sustain their recovery. In the absence of supportive and informed family and friends(or sometimes in spite of ill-informed family and friends) recovering individuals now have the option of connecting with a sober companion! These individuals are clinically trained, often having recovery experience of their own, but able to operate in a more flexible recovery peer/case management/therapeutic presence in the individual's daily context. Visit voyageandserenity.com to learn more! Emotional Sobriety refers to that inner work that becomes possible when a person has sustained abstinence from damaging addictive behaviors. It is the ongoing and imperfect process by which a person reconnects with their best self, their deepest values, and their highest purpose.
