Hello friends and welcome to Episode 24 of Smart Sports Podcast.

This week on the podcast, our guest doesn’t need an introduction. But he’s getting one anyways.

He’s one of our local Norfolk Pros, who played 310 NHL games for the New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins, plus 353 more professional games all over North America and in Finland.

But more importantly, Ryan VandenBussche has and continues to do great things in our community. And in this episode he talks about one of those things, Stix 'N' Pix.

Also, here is some information on the First Shift program in Simcoe

SHOUTOUTS

First shout out goes out to Jonah Cochrane, Keegan DaMota, Ryan VanNetten, and Brandon Balazs.

These four local hockey players, who suit up for the Brantford 99ers took part in the annual Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario All-Star games this past weekend in Woodstock.

Ryan, who is from Simcoe, and Brandon, who is from Tillsonburg played in the minor midget game, while Jonah and Keegan, both from Simcoe, played in the midget showcase.

Next shout out goes to Teeterville’s Shane Bergman. The Calgary Stampeders offensive lineman was not only his team’s O-lineman of the Year, but was named to the Canadian Football League’s All-Star team.

Make sure to check out the Smart Sports Podcast Facebook page, where there is much more local sports news. If you would like to get the word out about your team or league, make sure to drop us a line and we’ll do our best to post about your results, news, or event.
