Kieran is author of the much-acclaimed 2017 theory paper “Fuck Nuance” in Sociological Theory, and of the award-winning Last Best Gift (Chicago). We also talk about a new study on the human capital versus signaling debate about higher education’s value, reactions to the use of epithets in lessons, and the UCLA student Republicans’ campus invitation to Milo Yannopoulos.

Kieran Healy is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Duke University. He is affiliated with the Kenan Institute for Ethics, the Markets and Management Studies program, and the Duke Network Analysis Center.
