Transcript of podcast:

Hey everybody, this is Dillon. You’re listening to the Cambio Energy Solar Power Podcast. I am answering questions about the technical side of solar. If my energy requirements increase, can I upgrade my current solar system?

The answer is usually yes. If you have extra roof space you can pretty easily add solar panels. If you have the roof space then you can add it.

Depending on how your utility is set up, like if you had a rebate, it’s a little trickier with the utility to do it. But, you can do it. It most cases, you will be able to just add to the existing system. And, other cases you may have to almost put a separate system on your house and tie it in as if it’s having a separate solar system because of the rebates that were going out.

From a technical standpoint, yes, it is usually pretty easy to add solar to your rooftop. Especially if you have micro-inverters. Micro-inverters don’t depend on inverter string sizing like a central inverter would. You could easily throw in a few panels here and a few panels there without worrying about the sizing orientation quite as much. Micro-inverters are a plus for that very reason. They are very easy to expand.

More often then not, yes you can add to your existing solar system.

That is that, that’s all there is to it.

Keep the questions coming in. I’m happy to help and answer questions.

Thanks for listening. Peace be the journey.
