Pooja Tripathi is an Indian American filmmaker, actress, and musician. She grew up in Pittsburgh & New York City, and studied Business Administration and Violin Performance at Carnegie Mellon University. Pooja began her career in the fashion industry, working in buying and digital marketing at top brands including Fendi, Bloomingdale’s, and Dior.

She entered the world of film production as a producer of video content for Videofashion, covering exclusive fashion events including New York Fashion Week. Pooja brings her trained eye and marketing acumen from fashion into the world of film as Executive Producer at female-based production company Fountain Avenue Productions where she co-created the new Dutch American dramady series Amsterdam Ave.

Amsterdam Ave is a story about a Dutch and American girl switching places and following their dreams while living abroad.

In this conversation, we discuss:

  • How Pooja met her Amsterdam Ave co-creator Dionne randomly at a club in the South of France
  • The hilarious story of how Pooja had to source extras for one of her scenes in Holland
  • Pooja’s love for music and the creation of The Affairs which showcases the next generation of talent in classical and jazz music in NYC.

Loved chatting about all things music, acting, and following your dreams – especially if it takes your abroad. So without further ado, please enjoy my interview with Pooja Tripathi.
