Welcome to Southern Progressive Revival Episode 19, our monumental Martin Luther King Jr. and Mr. Joey Word special! In honor of Joey, we played happy birthday on the banjo. In honor of Dr. King, we discussed a lot. Whether it was the three evils of society as he saw them, our special guest Sister Jo dissecting his six steps to organizational destabilization (aka enacting meaningful, peaceful change), or general assessments, we tried to leave no stone unturned. Although that isn't to say we didn't have a lot of other things to talk about. Whether it was Gandhi and his view of the divine, his lasting impacting on non-violent protest, Bernie Sanders on guns, or an evangelical college that dares to fire a tenured professor simply because she said that Muslims worship the same god as we Christians, it got and stayed lively!
