This Queen City MC has been toiling away in the underground for a number of years, yet has only now begun to receive national and global acclaim after a rebrand of sorts. A name change from KING CALLIS and few tweaks to the content and overall approach has made all the difference in the world, as 2019 and 2020 have been very good to the Charlotte based artist. We dig head first into his brand new record with producer MACHAHA, “A Moment In Time” - which us also the first, official, self-produced release from COPENHAGEN CRATES, a Denmark-based label that until now, has only released physical records of other artists projects, Jah-Monte being one of them. We get into a little early history as well, including his first foray into rap as King Callis, the ceiling he and many artists before him have faced in Charlotte and why making moves up top has paid off in a big way for him the past few years.
