Trigger warning: this episode discusses workplace bullying and stillbirth. If you are affected by any of the issues raised, please head to your website for details of organisations that can offer support.
Redundancy, the death of her parents, moving house, menopause, and a lifetime of mental health issues created a perfect storm for Jo Fentiman. And after picking herself up after a breakdown left her unable to work for 14 months, she returned to the workplace only for bullying to take another toll on her mental health.
But out of this incredibly turbulent period came something wonderful: the realisation that Jo was a natural empath and a healer with a gift for Reiki. A gift she wanted to share with others, particularly teenagers and children suffering from anxiety.
Here’s why you should tune in
If you or someone you know is experiencing workplace bullying, hear Jo and Joy discussing the signs and what you can do about it. Be inspired by how, despite all the challenges Jo has faced, her experience led her to set up her own Reiki business so that, as Jo says, she now feels like she’s living her purpose. You’ll also be fascinated by Joy’s response to what Jo has to say about the source of her anxiety.
Here’s what to listen out for:
[00:54] Jo describes the events that lead to her breakdown.
[09:10] How social media can be a force for good.
[10:30] Dealing with workplace bullying.
[16:12] What did Jo take away from her experience?
[21:20] The root of anxiety can lie in childhood.
[28:30] Jo leans into healing and launches her Reiki business.
