On this episode of Speaking Globally, host Major Gen (Ret) Walter Givhan speaks with Dr. Ralph Clem, Emeritus Professor and Senior Fellow at the Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs at Florida International University. The episode's topic: the standoff between the United States and Russia over the future of Ukraine.

Clem holds the MA and PhD from Columbia University, in geography, with a concentration in Soviet studies. A geographer, he is the co-editor of seven books, including, most recently, Political Geographies of the Post-Soviet Union. He also frequently publishes blog posts, recently concentrated on Russia, Ukraine and international security issues.

Clem has testified on over 75 occasions as an expert witness in United States Immigration Courts in matters involving asylum-seekers from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
