Interpersonal Neurobiology and the importance of community and connection through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Which is essentially early human and nervous system development -- how that affects us as parents and the development of future generations.
Ashley Makan is a holistic doula, educator, and student of midwifery. She is the founder of Bodhi Birth and Wellness and is the Executive Director of the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and health (APPPAH). As an advocate for trauma-informed community support, physiologic birth, and the mind-body connection in parenthood, she works within her community as a midwifery apprentice and preconception coach.
