After laying out the context of war, they look into Elijah’s life to see his persistence in pointing people back to God, his wonders performed through God, and his revelation that God is a “gentle whisper” or “thin silence” in the midst of a world of noise and chaos. He set the example of standing up for what God says is right, and it’s the example we ought to follow as well.
