Trauma processing and trauma awareness has risen a lot in the healing fields. While trauma has been primarily boxed in a psychological model, shamanic perspectives can offer a wider lense.
Janine Ma-Ree, ISTA Lead Facilitator, speaks with us about how an earth-based shamanic understanding of the body and trauma can support deep personal and collective healing, empowerment and community.
Janine shares on...

  • What 'shamanic' means in the context of trauma
  • How the elements are essential to understand in the healing journey
  • What 'trauma' means
  • Why the same experience may be traumatic for one person, but not for another
  • Shamanic perspectives of the FREEZE response and how to honour and support frozen parts of ourselves, friends, lovers or clients
  • How to avoid looping in processing the emotional body (which can retraumatize you!)
