Welcome back to Sports Krunch with DKrom ladies and gentlemen, I’m your host David Kromelow. The NFL playoffs might not have officially began yet (we still have three weeks left in the regular season), but it sure felt like they have after one of THE most dramatic Sundays of NFL football I can ever remember transpired just this past week…didn’t it Hal Bent? 1. Week 14 Takeaways -Defense still matters -Baker Mayfield is on fire and the future couldn’t be brighter in Cleveland 2. Truth/Exaggeration -Browns interim OC Freddie Kitchens should be a serious head-coaching candidate for the Browns and other teams with an HC vacancy -If the Steelers miss the playoffs, the clock has to start ticking on Mike Tomlin -Vic Fangio has all but earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors -Pete Carroll has made just as strong a case for Coach of the Year as anybody -The Jaguars should seriously consider trading Jalen Ramsey in the offseason -The Patriots are more likely than not going to miss out on the AFC’s #1 seed 3. Chargers/Chiefs -Whose absence (or potential absence) will hurt their respective team more: Melvin Gordon or Spencer Ware? -How pivotal can Eric Berry’s return be to a Chiefs victory? -Is this the best season of Philip Rivers’ career? -Game-deciding matchup -Prediction 4. Cowboys/Colts -If there is a potential weakness in the Cowboys defense, what is it and how do Frank Reich and the Colts exploit it? -Who is more deserving of DROY honors: Vander Esch or Leonard? -Who is more important for the Colts to slow down: Amari Cooper or Ezekiel Elliott? -Game-deciding matchup -Prediction 5. Patriots/Steelers -What makes the Patriots more vulnerable this season compared to the last two seasons? -Does it seem that Juju Smith-Schuster is becoming equally as important of a weapon for the Steelers as Antonio Brown is? -How deflated are the Steelers chances of winning this game if James Connor doesn’t play? -Game-deciding matchups -Prediction 6. Rapid Fire Predictions -Texans/Jets -Browns/Broncos -Packers/Bears -Lions/Bills -Buccaneers/Ravens -Cardinals/Falcons -Raiders/Bengals -Titans/Giants -Dolphins/Vikings -Redskins/Jaguars -Seahawks/49ers -Eagles/Rams -Saints/Panthers 7. Week 15 Bold Predictions -Me: Kirk Cousins throws for 400+ yards and 3 TD’s -Hal: Saquon Barkley runs for 250 yards and 4 TD’s, Derek Carr throws for 400 yards passing 8. Challenge Flags -Me: Saints…don’t get off to another slow start -Hal: Matt Patricia and Lions…FINISH STRONG and get to 8-8 Thank you Hal…and that’s it for today here on Sports Krunch, but we’ll be back next week to preview Week 16…so stay tuned!
