Cowboys beat writer Calvin Watkins takes us back 20 years ago, to the week Emmitt Smith surpassed Walter Payton to become the NFL’s all-time leading rusher. It was an amazing achievement for Smith, who grew up in Pensacola, Fla., dreaming he’d break one of the most cherished records in sports.
