You want your business culture to be positive, clear, and in alignment with the talent you attract as well as the short and long-term goals for you and your business. Culture is karma. Whatever you’re seeding now will come back to roost. Culture can include your processes and procedures, mindset, stories, and goals. It’s something that’s born at the same time as your business, not to be cultivated later.

What can you do to actively manage and shape your culture?

  • Ask for feedback in an open, receptive way.
  • Take it seriously, but not defensively.
  • Open your eyes and ears. Observe and interact with your team.
  • Connect and co-create with your team.
  • Use your unique strengths to assess and shape culture.

What do you really care about? How do you want it to show up? What do you want to create with your business? What’s the gap between where you are now and where you want to be?
