Joe tells the story of founding ExecThread, the member-driven job sharing platform where successful executives share information about great job opportunities—openings that you’d only hear about through word-of-mouth or a lucky draw with a recruiting firm. What he soon discovered, however, was that the members signing up for ExecThread were disproportionately non-white and non-male. This idea of opening up accessibility to high-level jobs was clearly speaking to marginalized groups. For our East Coast listeners, we finally have a New York accent gracing our podcast. In addition to talking about ExecThread, Joe shares his perspective on the exciting tech scene that’s on the move in New York City, telling us his main reason for deciding it’s better to be in tech in New York than Silicon Valley (gasp!). Enjoy this episode with Joe Meyer.
