Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your time with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

As Christ-followers, our choices will be questioned.

“I don’t get it, Susan. Everyone’s going to the party, it’s no big deal. Why do you always say no? Yare you too good for us?”

How we respond to this question says a lot about Who we stand with and what we stand for.

“I get that you like hanging out with those guys. I’d rather not. It’s not about me being too good, Mary. I just want to honor my relationship with Jesus. Be careful. I’ll see you later, okay?”

Hmm, is this response an open door for further discussion?

Proverbs 15:1 states, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Susan could have just as easily said, “You’re being dumb, Mary! Going to a party where you know there’s a lot of drinking, smoking pot, and the like. One of these days you’re gonna get hurt, or worse, and I don’t want to be there when it happens!”

Whoa! Big difference, right?
How do you envision Mary responding? I hear a slamming door.

Standing up for our faith with soft words keeps doors of communication open. A show of steady faith, being consistent with our words, demeanor, and reasoning, doesn’t push people away. They may not agree or understand why we do what we do, and that’s okay.

What situations are you facing that challenge your faith with friends and family?

As standard bearers of Christ, our plumb line is truth, what we learn from the Bible. Love others as yourself (Mark 12:31).

We do not judge or compromise. We simply challenge ourselves to walk in alignment with His word every day.

Let's journey together.

Father, guide my thoughts.

I love You, Lord.

You are All-Knowing, All-Powerful, Ever Present.

Protect my ears and eyes.

Give me words that help.

Fill me with compassion for Your children.

Open doors where I can share soft words to draw others to You.

I praise You, in Jesus' name.

Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
