Are these extravagant promises? I think not. They are being fulfilled in me – sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will always materialize if I work for them.

So, for this question at the end of the promises, I really have to say that there is an X and Y group that I would be addressing at the same time.

The X group are those that are doing or have done this beautiful, God-given, 12-step program based on God and the promise of the new, spiritual way of life. Of course you know who you are. These promises will not come as a surprise to you. Some of them may seem, still, as extravagant promises. However, I believe you know in your heart from even having the smallest spiritual experiences with these 12-steps, that they are certainly a possibility. I can assure you, you are correct!

I named the second group, group Y. I think this might have been, if there is such a thing, a Freudian writing slip. The folks in his group may be asking themselves why always things happen to them. Some may be asking why God allowed their lives to evolve the way it did. Yet others may be questioning why it might be beneficial to try to turn to God in this time of need.

Well, as I said before, I wish I had the words to convince you to try a spiritual to the 12 step program and/or a spiritual way of life. I truly do not. I can only suggest that you become involved in some kind of 12-step group and look around you to see who are the seemingly happiest persons there. I’m not saying to look for those that seem to be trouble-free or making the most money or have the seemingly outstanding partner on their arm. I am asking that you look for those who are happy. My guess would be that those are usually the folks who have not only adopted a 12-step way of life, but a spiritual way of life.

This is not necessarily an easy task or assignment, but no one said it would be easy. I can only say that to do the work will certainly make it worthwhile.
