Between 1979 and 1981, approximately 29 murders occurred in the Atlanta area. The victims, all young black children, were found callously discarded. Their deaths left their families devastated, and the community in shambles. Investigators say that they worked tirelessly to find the killer and prevent more murders, and they would finally have some luck.

Wayne Williams was apprehended for the killings of two young men in Atlanta, who were believed to be victims of the serial killer. The investigators quickly began wondering if there was more to it, and they quickly began suspecting that he was the perpetrator behind the infamous Atlanta Child Murders.

And it would appear that they were correct.

After his conviction for the two murders, the killings stopped altogether. But somehow, doubts persist regarding his true involvement. Some question whether he was genuinely responsible or merely a convenient scapegoat for law enforcement. Some even say that he took the fall for the murders and that they were committed by the Ku Klux Klan.
