When it comes to play-by-play announcers in hockey, there's no one better than the great Doc Emrick.

He’s been behind the mic for 18-Stanley Cup Finals, has called 13 NHL All Star games, has called both men’s and women’s Olympic Hockey games and in 2011 became the first NHL play-by-play announcer to win an Emmy for “Outstanding Sports Personality, Play-By-Play”. Doc wasn’t done, winning that same award for the last three consecutive years.

The Emmys are a fitting tribute to a guy who’s now in his 34th year calling NHL games, including this year's NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs for NBC Sports.

In this episode of STOCKTON, the legendary Doc Emerick talks to Dick about how it all started, how he got the knick-name "Doc" and shares his personal battle in beating cancer.
