Raquel Bernedo Pardal and she is the Disaster Management Senior Officer for the Spanish Redcross. In Canada and the United States, the Red Cross is mostly known as an emergency services organization, but what I’ve come to learn is that in many countries the Red Cross is a much more integrated agency in the daily affairs of their communities. In the case of Spain, they help in job training and placement, social inclusion, environmental progress, and they even help school children with their studies. And today Raquel will tell us about CruzRojaResponde Open Data – an incredible tool that she and others at the Spanish Red Cross created - using Microsoft PowerBI - to help visualize and understand the work they do, the people they help, and the impact they’ve had in Spain.
