Shop clerks working along Interstate 70 began turning up dead, having been shot in the back of their heads with .22 caliber bullets, sending shockwaves throughout the Midwest region of the United States.

The crimes were as senseless as they were ruthless, with no apparent motive other than to kill.

Through proper gumshoe detective work, cooperation with witnesses, and forensics, it was determined that all crimes, despite hundreds of miles of separation, were committed by the same perpetrator, who had travelled back and forth along I-70 as he hunted for victims.
