The theory that our reality is nothing more than a simulation or computerized rendering of a reality. Are we just the product of some future simulation ran by our descendants for any number of scientific and/or philosophical reasons?
The 1999 film The Matrix brought the idea to the masses that maybe there is more than meets the eye when it comes to what our reality is or might be. Today there are many examples of simulation theory in popular culture making this one of the most debated topics in conspiracy and scientific circles alike.
